A Podcast for Instructors, Coaches, & Educators
We believe that good teachers don't live in a vacuum. In fact, sometimes they aren't even in a classroom! The best educators don't just teach in schools, but in gyms, art studios, basketball courts, and dojos! Here at the How to Teach Anything Podcast, we believe that we can learn from one another by taking a look at best practices, philosophies, and techniques from teachers who are masters at their craft...whatever that may be!
So join us on this journey as we humbly interview the best instructors, coaches, and educators to see what we can learn about teaching. Together, by looking at a variety of activities, we not only become smarter and stronger individuals, but can apply what we’ve learned to teaching others!
About Our Host: Matt Eyler
At the heart of it, Matt is a teacher. From a young age, he knew he wanted to be in the classroom, but as he got older he discovered that the classroom isn't the only place great instruction happened.
Matt has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and a Master's Degree in Reading Instruction. He is dually certified in both general and special education in New York State and spent a decade in the public education system teaching students of all ages and abilities, including students with learning disabilities, autism, speech and language impairments, and behavioral disorders.
Matt also has over 20 years experience in martial arts and currently holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in the Korean art of Tang Soo Do and owns his own studio where he teaches both kids and adults not only how to kick and punch, but positive character traits and important life lessons. He has developed a curriculum that is both fun in application and bold in content which has helped his studio grow into a thriving business. Outside of these experiences, Matt has worked as a youth program director to develop programing for Christian Education including children's and adult ministry, camps, and resources for youth pastors.
When not teaching his students or developing awesome educational content, Matt spends time with his wife and their 3 kids (who they homeschool). Matt enjoys all things Star Wars, comic books, and video games, so he is more than happy to nerd out about any of those topics.
